    Kathmandu / Ncell Axiata Limited has joined hands with Rakuten Viber to offer a special Data Pack with Viber Messaging as an add-on. These latest data packages by Ncell are available to subscribers across four top-performing data plans—Hero Packs, Nonstop YouTube, Triple Majja, and SMS Packs.

    The packages are available as an optional add-on to the user’s pre-existing prepaid and postpaid data package - with no additional charge. With this new offer, Ncell subscribers can now get access to additional Viber volume to enjoy features such as Viber messaging and fun stickers on Viber’s messaging platform that offer enhanced security to preserve user data privacy.

    Additionally, subscribers receive a free sticker pack while paid sticker packs on Viber would be free exclusively for Ncell users to download and make the most out of it.

    “As part of our continuing journey to enable a digital lifestyle, we have collaborated with Viber to let our customers enjoy free access to one of Nepal’s leading free-messaging apps. We’re really excited about this partnership and are planning to create more opportunities for the people in Nepal to enjoy,” said Pradeep Shrivastava, Chief Commercial Officer of Ncell.

    Ncell already has a dedicated Community and digital Bot service for customers on Viber. The partnership also sees the launch of localized Viber Lenses powered by augmented reality (AR) in the near future.

    “We see great synergy between Viber’s and Ncell’s goals towards connecting people through its network and messaging platform, while providing high-quality modern services. We believe this partnership will allow us to continue to scale and expand our reach in Nepal,” said David Tse, Rakuten Viber Senior Director.

    Users may subscribe to any of the selected data packs via the Ncell App, by topping up, visiting the nearest communication outlet, or by simply calling by dialing *17123#.

    CSR at Ncell :-

     Ncell, as a responsible corporate citizen, has made a significant investment of more than Rs. 1.40 billion in various social projects, contributing to the socio-economic development since its inception in the sectors including areas like Health, Education and Environment, Disaster Preparedness and Response and Livelihood Support among others with a primary focus on three main areas—Health, Education and Environment as core areas.

     The company has been driving its social initiatives from the forefront in line with the CSR provisions underlined in the Industrial Enterprise Regulation 2076.

    As part of its CSR initiative, the company has been spreading COVID awareness messages continuously for the last one year in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and UNICEF. It started disseminating nationwide messages to urge people for voluntary online registration for the first dose of COVID vaccine in collaboration with MoHP and UNDP.

     It has also been operating Ncell COVID-19 Hotline Service 9805554500 in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital for 24/7 free consultation with doctors and health professionals.

     Under this initiative, daily free teleconsultations to COVID patients staying in home isolation across the country are being provided. Similarly, it has supported the MoHP with 160 units (150 units of 10 LPM and 10 units of 5 LPM) of portable oxygen concentrators.

     These concentrators are provided to different remote health institutions, health posts, isolation centres where it is not feasible to ensure supply of oxygen cylinders.

    In 2020, Ncell made Rs. 9.70 billion worth value contribution in COVID response including Rs. 100 million support to the government established COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Fund. Aiming to help people stay connected easily during the ongoing hard times resulted from the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has also been providing services at more affordable rates through multiple consumer-friendly relief offers.
