the Embassy of Israel in Nepal commemorated Good Deeds Day by dedicating a full day to community service at the Tulasi Foundation in Lalitpur.
This initiative, aimed at fostering kindness and compassion, saw the Embassy staff and members of the Shalom Club-Nepali alumni who studied in Israel-spending quality time with children and elderly residents under the foundation’s care.
The day was filled with warm meals, engaging activities, and meaningful interactions, leaving lasting memories. Additionally, the Embassy contributed essential food supplies, fresh fruits, and toys for the children.
Ambassador Shmulik Arie Bass shared his thoughts, stating, “The concept of ‘Tikun Olam’ (World Fixing) in Judaism underscores the responsibility of improving humanity's well-being.
In 2007, Israel introduced Good Deeds Day, mobilizing thousands of volunteers across numerous NGOs to promote year-round social contributions and uplift lives. This year, over 110 countries, including Nepal, have joined hands in making a positive difference, proving that even small gestures can create a better world. Let’s work together for a brighter future!”
The Embassy of Israel has observed Good Deeds Day in previous years as well, stepping away from routine diplomatic responsibilities to engage in meaningful social work. This ongoing effort highlights Israel’s dedication to social responsibility and volunteerism, reinforcing its commitment to the well-being of the community.
Good Deeds Day is an annual global tradition encouraging individuals to contribute their time, effort, and skills to positively impact society.
